Local Food in Charlottesville… Another Day at the Hub

Posted on: Jul 17, 2013

We had two groups scheduled to spend a day at the Local Food Hub educational farm this spring, but we just couldn’t leave this third group out of the fun! In early June a couple of new employees, a couple of kids of employees, and a few WP team members who have volunteered at the farm before spent another lovely day assisting the folks at the Local Food Hub and their mission to increase community access to local food.  Per usual, they had a great day at Maple Hill Farm!

P.S. Most people know that famed country music legend Willie Nelson has Texas farming roots, but did you know that Nelson has spent his life as an advocate and supporter of family farms, and that he is headlining a benefit concert for our very own Local Food Hub at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion on September 15th?!

Farmer Steve, the farm manager at Maple Hill Farm, once again complimented the Woodard Properties group of volunteers on their dedication and hard work at the end of the day. Just goes to show that (although our leasing team members excel at helping University of Virginia students and C’ville residents find apartments and houses for rent in Charlottesville VA, and our finance team is phenomenal in all they do behind the scenes to assist our commercial and residential customers, and our facilities team spends endless time and energy keeping our UVA housing and Charlottesville apartments looking fabulous) we truly do strive to serve Charlottesville businesses, students and the community.
