The rain and general dreariness of late has us longing for the few days a year we get to work in the sunshine with some of our favorite organizations. Check out this recap from an especially warm and sunny day in May when several members of our team had the opportunity to work on construction for Charlottesville Housing with Habitat for Humanity:
On our first day volunteering with Habitat this year, Mike, Dale, Joy, and Jay had “fun in the sun” on Friday, May 10th helping to build an Abundant Life House. We measured, sawed, chalked lines, and hammered all day. Although the sun was beating down and there was little shade, we successfully framed and raised 4 new walls for the duplex on Prospect Avenue! We had the pleasure of working with Domino, John, and Morgan from the Habitat crew. Project 20 & The New Paradigm is Habitat’s response to the housing crisis in Charlottesville. The goal is to create and offer simple, decent, affordable housing to hard working families in our community.
