Make Way for the President

Whether you are a returning student or a year-round C’ville resident, beware of the masses in downtown Charlottesville today! President Barack Obama will be speaking at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion located at the east end of the downtown mall, and there are sure to be traffic jams and long lines a-plenty surrounding the pedestrian mall for most of the afternoon.

Although the Pavilion’s maximum occupancy is 4,997, it is unknown how many first-come first-serve tickets are being given out. The road-closings and other security measures will, however, surely cause some confusion in the downtown area, so make sure you are up to date with all of the detours, business closings, and other logistics surrounding President Obama’s midweek campaign stop in our town!
