Helping Fight Hunger in our Community

Posted on: May 12, 2015

There are a lot of dedicated staff and volunteers in Charlottesville who work continuously to fight hunger in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with a few of these fine folks at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in their unceasing efforts!

Here are John, Crys, and Kyle, having a great time serving at Loaves & Fishes (and looking good in their new volunteer t-shirts)! Their efforts (alongside many dedicated, regular volunteers and staff members) helped feed 287 family members, including 114 children and 16 seniors!

Organizing and directing the 82 people that visited the food pantry during our 2 hour volunteer shift was no small feat. Here John and Kyle are taking a well-deserved break with Glenn Hester, one of the dedicated staff members at Loaves and Fishes.

And this is what it looks like when you have hunger heroes as residents. So proud of all of our hunger heroes at Camden Plaza for rocking the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank food drive!
